Where is the Lodge located?

The Lodge provides short-term, shared accommodation to non-smoking apprenticeship students or those doing a practicum at the Royal Alex Hospital. Each single-occupancy room is fully furnished with bed/bedding/towels, night table/alarm clock, desk, dresser, Optik TV/VCR/DVD, common phone line, and wireless internet. The rooms are all lockable from both inside and out.

The house includes fully equipped kitchen. There is also a study/socializing area on the main floor, and a laundry room in the basement. There is a deep freeze available for everyone's use in the basement. Except for food items, all personal belongings must be kept in the student's own room. There is an extensive video collection as well as some books and games.

House Rules
You MUST be a non-smoker to stay. (Being an outside smoker is NOT a non-smoker - please do not book if you smoke!)
All common areas must be kept clean at all times and you are required to clean up after each use. (Dishes must be done and put away, bathroom tidied, etc.) Outside shoes or boots cannot be worn in the house.
If you notice something needs attention, let us know as quickly as possible so a minor issue doesn't become a major one.
Guests are allowed in common areas ONLY (not in your room), and must leave by 10 pm. Incoming phone calls on the common house line are also restricted to between 7 am and 10 pm.
Pets are not allowed on the premises.

Internet
We have good high speed internet and wifi throughout the lodge. We also have a mac computer station on the main floor. It's old, but if you need to check your email, it's something.

Rooms
Rooms are identified by numbers. (1-3 are in the basement, 4 & 5 are on the main floor and the loft is on the second floor.) Amenities and descriptions of each room are provided under the rates tab.

What you will need to bring
You will need your clothes, personal toiletries and personal groceries if you wish to cook. The house and your room is equipped with all other necessary items.

Parking
There is no parking or vehicle plug-ins available on Lodge property. All parking is either on 97th street in front of the house, or on one of the side streets.

Booking a stay
All stays begin and end on a weekend with Sunday arrivals after 12 noon and Saturday departures before 12 noon. (This gives us a 24 hour window to prepare the rooms between students. We cannot accommodate open-ended stays. You must book a predetermined length of stay, as we book our available rooms calendar to students as much as a year in advance. The dates of your complete stay are secured by postdated cheque(s) or if you prefer, email money transfer. (See Lodge rates.)
